About Fondant

Fondant is made of sugar, syrup, and water (marshmallow). It is boiled to a thick icing consistency. When the mixture is ready to use it has a play-doh type texture that is rolled out and used to cover cakes giving a smooth and sleek look.

When Cutting the Cake

When cutting the cake be sure to use a serrated knife. Begin cutting in the middle of the cake and slice downward. Be sure to wipe off the knife before cutting the next piece of cake. This will keep all of the cut pieces of cake looking neat with no clumps of icing.
